ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PROGRAM
Masters Preparatory School houses approximately 250 students, grades
Pre-K4 thru 5th. The school provides a complete educational experience.
Our academic programs are second to none, and our curriculum is
one of the best in the state of Florida. Students will also grow
and mature socially as they interact with children from several
different backgrounds. Safety is not a concern as we are located
in a well-guarded and secure location.
Children are our main priority, and children entering our program
will leave with confidence, and superior academic and social skills.
They will know and appreciate their uniqueness, capabilities, and
creativeness. In addition, they will have acquired the tools necessary
to explore their world, know their role, and succeed at any endeavor
they undertake.
Students will learn in a warm and safe learning environment where
our professional, qualified, and certified staff will teach them
how to identify their strengths and improve any weaknesses. Students
will obtain the tools necessary to overcome any challenges the future
will bring them. Our exceptional faculty along with students’ peers
will contribute to your child’s academic and social development.
Masters Preparatory School serves the community, the state, and
the nation by beginning to prepare young people to be productive
members of society. We will instill moral and ethical behavior in
our students while nurturing their intellectual and technological
development, as well as increasing literacy and critical thinking
skills. Students will also acquire a strong work ethic and a strong
sense of responsibility.

Curriculum- “Excellence in Education
that Builds a Foundation for the Future”
Masters Preparatory School offers a complete and rich core curriculum,
as well as enrichment classes. The core curriculum consists of:
English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Foreign Language,
and Performing Arts. Enrichment is provided in electives and required
courses in Computer Science, Art, Humanities, Music, Journalism,
Dance, and Physical Education.
Combined, these offer a balanced and exciting edcation your child
will greatly benefit from and enjoy.
Our school utilizes the A Beka Book curriculum which gives a traditional
approach to learning. This cirriculum undoubtedly provides learners
with an excellent foundation for learning, as well as expounding
and building upon learned concepts. The A Beka Book approach to
education keeps learning lively, interesting, and memorable. The
materials reflect sensible theory that is firmly anchored to practicality.
A Beka Book materials have been developed as a result of 50 years
of actual classroom experience.
Intermediate Grade Levels (1st-5th)
The curriculum of grades 1-5 further deepens and broadens the Primary
School base of learning.
Students will be challanged in primary disciplines of academic focus.
They will also be challanged and engaged in fun and character building
enrichment courses.
Core Academic Courses
Language Arts, Reading, and Writing
Language Arts integrates reading, writing, spelling, phonics, and
grammar. Listening comprehension and storytelling is coupled with
discussion and computer instruction. Students are exposed to the
reading-writing connection. Students will learn prewriting, drafting,
responding and revising, proofreading, and publishing. Students
also receive instruction in the parts of speech, word usage, mechanics,
and vocabulary development. Students will develop clear and effective
oral and written communication skills.
Mathematics
Mathematics focuses on the mastery of basic concepts and the use
of higher-level tactics and problem solving skills. As students
progress through the grades, these crucial concepts will be easily
recognized, and will help students complete higher levels of mathematic
applications. Students will be exposed to activities that will encourage
hearing, sensory, and visual areas. Mastery of math applications
will occur, along with finding creative and alternative problem-solving
strategies.
Science
Science integrates exploration and experimentation with mathematics,
writing, and thinking skills in a hands-on learning environment.
This will promote early development of scientific skills. Scientific
knowledge will also be acquired by observing, comparing, classifying,
interpreting, estimating, communicating, and planning. Basic investigations
will be conducted, along with measuring, predicting, inferring,
drawing conclusions, hypothesizing, formulating, identifying, and
experimenting.
Social Studies
Social studies exposes students to history, economics, government
values, customs, geography, and other aspects of society. Students
will connect with their communities, and understand their communities’
importance. Field trips to various sites enhance learning in these
areas.
Students who achieve outstanding academic performance are honored
on Masters Preparatory School’s honor roll. Outstanding students
are also honored at the end of the year in the Masters Preparatory
School’s Awards Ceremony.
Enrichment
Spanish
Students are introduced to a new and exciting language. As they
progress through the grades, students will become more proficient
speakers, readers, and writers of the language. The course is taught
several times weekly, beginning in the kindergarten level.
Music
Music is designed to stimulate musical creativeness and abilities
through a structured fun and entertaining enviornment. It also introduces
students to the foundational building blocks of music appreciation.
Students also learn to play various instruments.
Art
Art focuses on asthetics, and basic skills like tracing, coloring,
and drawing are acquired and used. Students will grow emotionally
and intellectually from sensory experiences. These experiences will
promote creativity, imagination, and artistic expression.
Physical Education and Health
Physical Education and Health focuses on team-building, teaching
sportsmanship, and teaching cooperation through sports and activities.
This will encourage physical well-being and encourage a lifetime
participation in physical activity, recreational or organized. Students
will be well-rounded, healthy, and more productive.
Computer Science
The technology laboratory is taught in conjunction with the curriculum,
along with many other applications and computer functions. Students
learn the fundamentals of computer technology, along with safely
using the Internet and multimedia technology. Technology is utilized
to increase literacy skills and indispensable knowledge.
Reading Programs
This critical and extremely beneficial program is designed to help
those students who may be having difficulty with reading fluency
and comprehension. Students work in groups of two or three with
a certified reading specialist to improve word recognition, fluency,
and comprehension. Sessions are provided at least three times a
week.
Journalism
Students are introduced to the basics of collecting and editing
of news for presentation through the media. In addition, an introduction
to writing designed for publication in a newspaper or magazine will
be acquired.
Dance
Students engage in modern dance activities using contemporary music
like R&B and Hip-Hop. Students are given the opportunity to
participate in cheerleading as well.
Field Trips
Field trips are an important component to enhancing the educational
experience. They allow students to participate, better understand,
and witness the key concepts and information they learn in the classroom.
Field trips also allow students to see and interact with the community
in which they inhabit. Finally, field trips are a fun way for students
to learn and promote commaraderie between classmates and teachers.
Classes visit: The Museum of Discovery and Science, Miami Seaquarium,
Miami Children’s Museum, Wanadoo City, Biscayne Natural Perserve
Park, Muvico educational events, American Amerlines Arena events,
Parrot Jungle, Metro Zoo, Florida Marlins game, Washington, DC,
Busch Gardens, along with other great places.
